Biography

Entering retirement with a Silver medal. Aksel Lund Svindal had a highly successful skiing career over the years. The Norwegian athlete won just about everything there is to win. He was Olympic champion twice, World champion five times and overall World Cup winner twice as well. He also won nine Crystal Globes and celebrated 36 World Cup victories. Svindal said goodbye to skiing in style: after a serious knee injury, he succeeded - following several comeback attempts - to win the Silver medal in the Downhill on his final race at the 2019 World Championships. Sport plays a major role in his private life too: Aksel Lund Svindal loves freeriding, water sports, motocross, and music. And, in recent years, he has participated in a number of start-up companies.
