Jonathan Nordbotten grew up in a small place called Kolbotn. He got his first pair of cross country skis when he was 2 years old, but his parents found out pretty quick that he was more into downhill skiing then cross country skiing. They eventually gave up and gave him real pair of alpine skis. Jonathan started to ski in a small ski hill called Ingierkollen he could see the lift from our kitchen window. That’s where he usually spent his spare time after school. He started to join the local ski club Ingierkollen and the ski hill became his playground. When he grew up he played soccer and golf as well, but then the older he got the more committed he got to skiing and so Jonathan decided to quit the other sports and focus just on skiing. After skiing children’s races his entire life, he made the Norwegian National Team when he was 15 years old. In 2011 he finally had his World Cup debut.
