Biography

Perseverance pays off in the World Cup Simon Jocher has never lost sight of his dream of becoming a professional skier. His perseverance was rewarded on 1 February 2020, when at the age of 23 he competed in his first World Cup event in the Downhill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The German athlete notched up points for the first time on 29 December 2020 when he finished 15th in the Super-G in Bormio. By the 2022/23 season, Simon Jocher was twice in the top-ten with an eighth place in the Downhill in Val Gardena in 2021 and a seventh place in the Downhill in Kvitfjell in 2022. He also finished in fifth place in the Combined event at the World Championships in Cortina in 2021 and in 13th place in the Super-G at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. His hobbies include windsurfing, hiking and tennis. Both his older brother Max and his sister Theresia were ski athletes.
