Biography
Abel is a freeride skier from Vielha, Val d´Aran in Spain where his family owns a hotel. He grew up skiing the local terrain, following in the footsteps of his legendary freerider friend Aymar Navarro. Abel started competing in 2015 and placed third in the 2018 Freeride Junior World Championship, progressing on to the Freeride Qualifier circuit and finally the Freeride World Tour in 2022. His debut season was also the first time the FWT held an event in his home resort of Baqueira Beret, where he placed second. During the Xtreme Verbier finale he stunned fans by stomping a huge backflip on the Bec des Rosses face in Verbier in challenging conditions, a testament to his agility and air awareness. Abel´s preferred skis are the KORE 117 and KORE 111 because of their versatility in every condition and on any terrain.
