Biography
World-class in Giant Slalom from the start Mathieu Faivre has already achieved something very special in his career. At his World Cup première in 2010 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the French athlete finished 15th to immediately notch up points. In Giant Slalom, Faivre's number one discipline, he became junior World Champion in the same year. He celebrated his only World Cup victory so far in 2016 in Val d'Isére, also in the Giant Slalom. In the 2016/17 season Faivre, who was born in Nice and competes for Club Douanes C.S. Isola, finished second in the Giant Slalom overall ranking. He put in a strong performance with the French team at the 2017 World Cup in St. Moritz, where he and his team-mates won Gold.
