THE HEAD DELTA PRO WINS BEST POWER RACQUET AT THE PADEL RACQUET AWARDS

HEAD has great news! The ai2 Institute at the Universitat Politècnica de València and the Testea Padel laboratory recently presented the first Padel Racquet Awards, where the Delta Pro was named BEST POWER RACQUET, and the Speed Motion and Gravity Pro were finalists in the PREMIUM HYBRID RACQUET and PREMIUM INITIATION RACQUET categories, respectively. True recognition of the hard work of HEAD’s R&D team.

As a reminder, the Delta Pro —recommended by Arturo Coello, the current world number 1— is a high-power model that has been revamped with the Auxetic frame for improved feel, whilst the Speed Motion focuses on versatility and manoeuvrability, and the Gravity Pro on comfort and control.

For its part, Testea Padel is the first laboratory in the world to study and certify the behaviour of padel racquets. Each of the studies and certificates carried out are endorsed by the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). And precisely this year, in 2023, Testea Padel together with the UPV launched the first edition of the awards to recognise the best performing and most efficient paddle racquets.

In reality, there are no other facilities in the world like those of the Testea Padel laboratory, and for the first time awards are based exclusively on scientific data rather than on players’ sensations or similar. We could then say that these are the world’s first scientific awards for padel racquets.

In total, more than twenty padel racquet models by the sector’s main brands were entered for the awards. Throughout the month of May, experts from the UPV’s ai2 Institute subjected them to a total of 10 tests to calibrate their weight, balance, face and frame stiffness, and more. All this contributed to deciding which deserved to win each category.

“When we presented TESTEA with the different racquets for analysis in the laboratory, we were sure they had the necessary characteristics and excellence to feature among the top models on the market”, explains Daniel Picot, Padel Racquet Product Manager at HEAD. He adds that “we view the awards very positively, in terms of both organisation and analysis quality. We have been working with TESTEA for some time, and we knew that with the support of the Universitat Politècnica de València, the quality standards and working methods would be very rigorous. We are very happy that the Delta Pro won the award for best power racquet, and that two other models were among the finalists.”
