Biography
Raymond McDermott is a freeride skier from Boulder, Colorado. He grew up ski racing at Eldora Mountain, a small ski area just outside of Boulder. After he stopped racing, he turned his attention towards skiing the whole mountain and spending more time in the backcountry. Now based in Arapahoe Basin, Colorado, he spends his winter skiing playful natural terrain, making video edits and travelling around the world to compete in freeride competitions. After competing on the North American Freeride World Qualifier circuit for the three seasons, he qualified for the Freeride World Tour in 2020, skiing the fearsome Wildseeloder face in Fieberbrunn and two contests in Ordino Arcalís, Andorra. In 2022 he competed in three Freeride World Qualifier events and alongside his ski career, he has completed a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.
