Biography

Totally world-class in Giant Slalom. Stefan Luitz, who joined the HEAD World Cup Rebels team in 2021, stood on top of the podium at the 2018 World Cup in Beaver Creek in his showpiece discipline, the Giant Slalom. With the German team he won the Bronze medal at the World Championships in Schladming in 2013. Despite several injuries, the athlete from Allgäu fought his way back to the top of the world again and again. Luitz achieved some great results at the 2021 World Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo. He won Bronze in the team event and finished seventh in the Giant Slalom and ninth in the Parallel event. His mum Petra and dad Ludwig, both national ski instructors, encouraged him at the ski club, where his mother was his coach. He inherited the ski racing gene from his father, who was also a member of the national alpine ski team and has accompanied Stefan for many years as his ski service man. In May 2021 Stefan Luitz, whose hobbies include volleyball, surfing, wakeboarding and biking, married his girlfriend Sarah.
