HEAD has become the number one tennis racquet brand in Europe after gaining market share in an exceptional first half of 2023.
According to data from the Tennis Industry Association and Sports Marketing Surveys, tennis racquet revenues for all brands grew by 14.9 per cent across the primary European markets when compared to the first six months of 2022. HEAD gained share in most of those markets - Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands – which propelled the brand to the top ranking in Europe.
Over the same period, HEAD also gained further share of the tennis ball market in Europe, with the total market increasing by 4.2 per cent by units sold when compared to the first half of 2022.
The most outstanding results were in HEAD's home market of Austria, where the tennis ball market share was above 60 per cent and the tennis racquet share was over 50 per cent.
Novak Djokovic's record-breaking tennis in the first half of 2023 - claiming the first two majors of the season at the Australian Open and Roland-Garros to become the first man in history to win 23 Grand Slam singles titles - helped HEAD to achieve the number one ranking in Europe. Djokovic was not alone: the outstanding performance of many other HEAD ambassadors - including ATP Top 10 players Jannik Sinner, Andrey Rublev and Taylor Fritz, as well as WTA star Coco Gauff - contributed to these results.
