The top-level sports equipment brand HEAD, and the collection of premium clubs David Lloyd, have furthered their initial agreement, which started with David Lloyd Club Turó in Barcelona 18 years ago, to partner together to promote tennis and padel.
Here at HEAD we strongly believe that everyone can play, no matter their age, fitness level, abilities or experience. No other two sports are as appreciated and offer as much potential to get practically everyone out there to try them.
In this sense, extending this agreement to include the rest of David Lloyd Clubs in Spain, joining its 89 clubs in the UK currently under this agreement, strengthens both corporations’ firm commitment towards the same goal: encouraging families to play sports and making padel and tennis accessible to all, no matter their age or skill level.
This agreement extension will see HEAD license equipment and David Lloyd Clubs use said equipment exclusively, in addition to activities aimed at encouraging adults and kids to play tennis and padel, such as clinics, tournaments, exhibitions and product testing.
Racquet-sport education is at the heart of David Lloyd Clubs. Its tennis academy is a pioneer in Spain, teaching people to love this sport and, in turn, racquet sports from childhood onwards. Partnering with a major brand in this sector shows the need for sports to be a part of people’s lives from an early age.
In Ricky Brigolle’s eyes, HEAD’s Category Manager of Racquet Sports: “It is a true honour for HEAD to have an agreement with David Lloyd’s clubs in Spain. Our connection to its Barcelona club dates back to David Lloyd’s start in Spain and extending this agreement country-wide is a reflection that we can replicate what’s been working for the past 18 years at all its clubs. Both our companies share the values of playing sport as a family and we’re going to work together to bring tennis and padel closer to people of all levels and ages.”
Meanwhile, Manel Martínez, Business Support Director of David Lloyd Clubs in Spain, stated: “Both me and everyone here at David Lloyd in Spain are extremely pleased about striking this agreement. It is a real privilege to share our project with Head, a company with the same values and passion for racquet sports. We are greatly looking forward to this new challenge and are positive it will bring lots of success to both companies.”
This agreement will be implemented this month.
