The Gravity R-Pet Bag - Spun from recycled plastic

The HEAD GRAVITY R-PET bags collection, made from recycled PETR bottles, launches in 2021

Everyone, tennis players included, should be "taking greater care of the planet". That's the clear, urgent message from Sascha Zverev, an environmentally conscious athlete who spends as much time as he can in nature, and who understands the need to address the amount of plastic clogging up the world's seas and oceans.

To help tennis players of all levels enjoy the sport in a more sustainable fashion, Zverev has collaborated with HEAD on the development of the brand's first tennis bags made from recycled PET bottles. The HEAD GRAVITY R-PET collection, which will launch in 2021, is also an illustration of how HEAD recognizes its responsibility to be more sustainable and to protect the planet for future generations.

Up to 47 PET bottles in each bag

While 47 PET bottles have been turned into fine, beautifully-colored threads of plastic to make the HEAD GRAVITY R-PET DUFFLE BAG, 36 PET bottles are recycled for the slightly smaller HEAD GRAVITY R-PET SPORT BAG. On and off the court, you can make a strong statement with the HEAD GRAVITY R-PET bags, which come with plenty of fresh style. While the materials are recycled, the teal and navy wave print is highly original, inspired by islands and island nations, and also influenced by Polynesian tattoos, which are an integral part of the culture on the islands.

Message from Zverev

Inside each bag you will find a label with a personalmessage from HEAD ambassador Zverev, who writes: “We should all take greater care of the planet. It was here long before we arrived and we need to be more respectful of its resources to ensure the long-term prosperity of everyone who inhabits our world.”

There is also a message from HEAD on that label, thanking the consumer for making an environmental choice of bag: "Congratulations. You are the proud owner of an exclusive HEAD GRAVITY R-PET BAG developed with Sascha Zverev. At HEAD, we recognise our responsibility to make a sustainable contribution towards preserving the world we live in. This is our first tennis bag made from recycled PET bottles. We thank you for supporting our efforts by purchasing this bag."

HEAD GRAVITY R-PET DUFFLE BAG

The construction and features are based on the HEAD GRAVITY bags. Zverev will carry the HEAD GRAVITY R-PET DUFFLE BAG, which is easy to customize, thanks to the adjustable dividers that attach to the clothes-friendly Velcro tapes inside. Choose between storing all your kit in one huge compartment or separating the interior into several smaller compartments. There is plenty of space in a bag that can store up to 12 racquets, and which features a separate, ventilated shoe compartment and a CCT+ compartment that protects your racquets from high temperatures, as well as additional inside and outside accessory pockets.

HEAD GRAVITY R-PET SPORT BAG

Like its big brother, the HEAD GRAVITY R-PET SPORT BAG also comes with adjustable dividers that attach to the clothes-friendly Velcro straps inside, and which make the bag easy to customise. There is space for up to six racquets, an integrated shoe bag, and a number of inside and outside accessory pockets for all your belongings. This is a highly functional bag, which has adjustable backpack straps.

Details matter

Every detail has been considered in the HEAD GRAVITY R-PET collection to help make the bags as sustainable as possible. The hangtag is made from recycled paper, and attached to the bag with a cotton cord rather than a plastic cord.
