HEAD – Top performance over an entire decade

HEAD has been by far the most successful racquet brand in men’s tennis over the decade from 2011 to 2021, with more than 50 per cent of leading titles won in the professional game.

The racquets endorsed by a range of different players – from the big-hitting Alexander Zverev to the all-round brilliance of Novak Djokovic – have been used to lift an astonishing array of trophies around the world and on different surfaces.

“The racquet is the tennis player’s most important tool,” says Ottmar Barbian, HEAD’s executive vice-president for racquetsports, “and we present ourselves as a high-performance brand. We are therefore super-proud to find that ours is the leading brand across a spectrum of different professional players with different types of games.

“At HEAD we try to build up a personal relationship with all our top-level athletes, so this kind of success is not just rewarding on a professional level but a source of tremendous satisfaction across our family of tennis players and dedicated staff.”

In the decade from 2011 to 2021, the three Olympic gold medals were all won by HEAD players (Andy Murray in 2012 and 2016, and Zverev in 2021), Djokovic won 19 Grand Slam singles titles between January 2011 and July 2021 while endorsing the HEAD Speed range, and Djokovic and Murray notched up 50 ATP Masters-1000 titles between them.

Wins this year at Wimbledon for Djokovic and in Masters-1000 events for Taylor Fritz and Djokovic, along with impressive performances from the Italian pair Matteo Berrettini and Jannik Sinner, suggest HEAD’s success is well set to continue.

HEAD’s range of racquets has also enjoyed success on the women’s tour. Even with Ashleigh Barty’s retirement earlier this year at the age of 25 after winning Grand Slam titles on all three surfaces, the Austrian company is well placed to see its athletes lift more trophies. Heading the HEAD players at the top of the WTA rankings are Coco Gauff, who reached her first major final this year, and Barbora Krejcikova, who remains a force in singles and doubles.

“The choice a player makes about which racquet to play with will be down to personal factors – what feels good, what suits one’s style of play, etc.”, Barbian added. “HEAD offers models suited to each level of play and aimed at specific types of players, as well as women, juniors, etc. That’s why we believe the HEAD range is the perfect place for any player to start their search for a racquet. We are a team, our philosophy is to help every player – amateur or professional – to be their best, and ours is the performance of the decade.”

“The emerging generation of HEAD players features a variety of playing styles, embodied by athletes like Berrettini, Fritz, Sinner and others such as Lorenzo Musetti and Andrey Rublev.
