HEAD’S LAURA MASSARO IS NEW SQUASH WORLD CHAMPION

HEAD Racquet Rebel Laura Massaro made history on Sunday by securing her first CIMB Women’s World Squash Championship title – the first English woman in 15 years to do so. Her hard-fought five-set victory over Egyptian Nour El Sherbini in Penang, Malaysia, also makes Massaro one of only seven players to hold the World and British Open squash titles simultaneously.

“I can’t actually believe that I’m world champion,” said an overjoyed Massaro after her victory. “It hasn’t really sunk in yet, it just feels amazing. The match itself was probably one of the hardest matches I’ve ever had to play. I never dreamed that I would be able to say that I was the British Open champion and the world champion, but now I can.”

The 2013 WSA Player of the Year and current No. 2 in the WSA World Rankings recommends the new HEAD Xenon 135 squash racquet featuring Graphene technology, an extremely lightweight material with a breaking strength 200 times greater than steel. When integrated into the squash racquet shaft, the unique substance allows for the optimal redistribution of weight to functionally more relevant area. As a result the racquet is easier to swing, while providing more control and power to the player.
