HEAD Penn’s Rocky Carson Ends the Year at Number One

Sarasota, Florida – April 29th 2018

By reaching the semifinals of the last event on the 2017-2018 International Racquetball Tour (IRT), HEAD Penn’s Rocky Carson captured the top spot in the season-long rankings race. Rocky, who can now be crowned with the title of the No. 1 Player in the World, also won the Year End IRT Title in 2008.

Carson didn’t win an event during the current season, however it was his consistency in reaching tournament finals that propelled him in the rankings. Of the 11 IRT tournaments he played in this season, Rocky reached finals five times and the semifinals on three additional occasions. Carson’s career winning percentage on the IRT is now at 72% with match record of 542 wins and just 216 losses.

Rocky’s impressive professional career is equally matched by his play representing the United States on the international stage. In February, Carson won his 10th USA Racquetball National Doubles Championship earning him a spot on his 16th U.S. National Team. Rocky also holds seven U.S. National Singles Championships, 12 World Outdoor Racquetball Singles titles and 6 World Outdoor Racquetball Doubles titles. Rocky is the reigning USA Racquetball’s Male Athlete of the Year.

Carson will be part of the U.S. National Team that will compete in the International Racquetball Federation’s (IRF) World Championships in Colombia, CA in August.
