Biography

"A winner never gives up" "And someone who gives up will never win" is the favourite motto of Broderick Thompson, who first started skiing at the age of one. The Canadian athlete did not let a serious injury stop him. In the autumn of 2018, he suffered a serious knee injury during a training run in Nakiska, which not only tore the cruciate ligament, but also affected the meniscus and patellar tendon. But he never gave up and was rewarded with his first World Cup podium on December 2, 2021: starting with bib number 35, Broderick Thompson finished third in the Super-G at Beaver Creek. The Canadian athlete began competing at the age of eleven. He celebrated his World Cup debut in November 2014 in the Downhill in Lake Louise. He bagged his first World Cup points in January 2015 by finishing 30th in the Combined event in Wengen. Broderick Thompson is a Right to Play ambassador, woodcarver, ukulele player and adventurer. He also enjoys playing baseball, volleyball and tennis.
