25 Years of Padel Excellence: The Legacy of HEAD.

HEAD Padel’s story began in Argentina in 1989, when the entrepreneur Billy Mosche first produced racquets under license. Those early steps sparked a journey, but the true birth of the brand came in 2000; the moment HEAD Padel officially emerged. Now, in 2025, we proudly celebrate 25 years of pushing innovation, performance, and passion for the game to new heights.

From the official beginning in 2000, Eduardo Vieytes, Commercial Manager of HEAD in Argentina, played a central role in shaping the brand’s success. He helped build a team of designers, developers, and marketers with one clear ambition: to push the boundaries of what a padel racquet could be.

Eduardo’s team’s original designs were crafted from rare, lightweight Kiri wood from the Misiones forests. The racquets were finished with a durable fiberglass resin coating, blending strength and style perfectly, winning the trust of professional players.

Among them was Daniela Álvarez, who recalls: “I was an ambassador for the sport. I competed, gave lessons, and played exhibitions across the country. I enjoyed every single moment.” Her passion and visibility helped fuel the rise of padel, inspiring countless players to pick up a racquet.

At the same time, Jorge Nicolini was thrilling packed crowds with his powerful game. As he puts it: “Padel was a crazy fever. New courts were opening everywhere, tournaments every weekend. The crowds were huge and enthusiastic, like fans waiting for their favourite singers.” His words capture the excitement of an era when padel was exploding in Argentina.

Gustavo Maquirriain, another leading figure of that golden generation, adds: “In 1985, pro padel was just starting in Argentina. My brother Javier and I were the top pair for years. In the 1990s, HEAD signed us, and we represented them proudly.” Together, these voices paint a vivid picture of the sport’s early boom and of HEAD’s deep connection to its growth.

With all this legacy behind it, nowadays, HEAD Padel stands as a symbol of performance, design, and authenticity. What began as a local passion has become a global success story and this anniversary is not just a milestone, but a promise to keep shaping the future of the sport.

The rest, as they say, is history. Iconic padel history.
