Sinner defends his Wimbledon Title

Jannik Sinner has strengthened his position as one of the all-time greats of tennis by defending his Wimbledon title.

Paco Rassat holds his trophy on the podium at the Madonna di Campiglio World Cup slalom, wearing HEAD racing equipment.

The 24-year-old Italian beat the his fellow HEAD ambassador Alexander Zverev in Sunday’s final on the grass of the All England Club in London.

The title amounts to a superb comeback by Sinner after he lost in the second round of the French Open in hot weather. In an unusually hot London, Sinner negotiated a challenging path to the final, which included a five-set victory in the first round, and stopping another HEAD player with Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals.

It means Sinner has now won five Grand Slam titles across three of the majors. He is by far the most successful Italian player – man or woman – in the history of tennis.

Ottmar Barbian, executive vice-president of HEAD’s racquet sports division, said, "We are so proud of Jannik, both as a member of the HEAD family, and most importantly because he is a great example to any youngster. He is turning into one of the all-time greats of the sport."
