This International Workers Day, we celebrate two outstanding employees in our wonderful team.

International Workers’ Day, celebrated on May 1st, is a powerful reminder of the struggles and victories of workers around the world. We pause and take this opportunity to namecheck two of our star workers.

Born from the fight for fair hours, safe conditions, and dignity on the job, International Workers Day, honours the backbone of every industry, the people who keep the world turning. More than just a day in the calendar, it’s a celebration of solidarity, progress, and the ongoing acknowledgement for the need for workers' rights everywhere.

We think this is the perfect day to raise a cheer for Celel Karakoc, who at 17, joined HEAD, following in his father's footsteps—and 40 years later, he's still going strong. Starting as a night-shift helper in ski pressing, his dedication quickly saw him rise to shift supervisor. HEAD became more than a workplace; it became a second family. Since 2008, Celal has also served passionately as Chairman of the Workers' Council, bridging the gap between staff and management with empathy and calm. His loyalty, leadership, and commitment make him a true inspiration.

We also want to shout out for amazing star employee, Karin Valersi from Hohenems, Austria. She’s been a dedicated part of our busy team at HEAD for an incredible four decades. Starting in ski inspection at just 18, she worked her way into a key office role linking design, development, and purchasing. In 2022, after a life-changing accident led to permanent disability, Karin faced immense challenges—but with determination, support from loved ones, and the loyalty of colleagues and friends, she returned to her role just eight months later. Her resilience and positivity continue to inspire everyone at HEAD, where she’s so much more than just an employee.
