Athletes like Coco Gauff have chosen HEAD from a young age.
In the competitive world of sports, talent needs a guiding hand to flourish. We believe HEAD makes a difference and stands out as a beacon for young athletes. Through its innovative grassroots initiatives, the company has been quietly revolutionizing winter and racquet sports by investing in youth development. These programs not only provide top-tier equipment but also foster mentorship, long-term relationships, and real-world experience, shaping the careers of countless promising stars. From snowy slopes to sun-drenched courts, HEAD's commitment to grassroots talent is building a legacy of excellence.
Let's start with winter sports, where HEAD's programs have turned raw potential into world-class-level prowess. One example is the Young Rebels Team from Switzerland which launched in 2014. It targets young national ski racers aged 14 to 21, selecting them purely based on performance. With around 50 athletes currently enrolled, the program deliberately keeps numbers low to ensure personalized, one-on-one mentoring. This intimate approach allows for tailored support, including custom-fitted ski boots and comprehensive equipment services.

Wendy Holdener – World Cup Rebel since childhood.
The program is run in multiple countries and the results speak for themselves: athletes like Franjo von Allmen, Corinne Suter, Wendy Holdener, Lukas Feurstein, and Nina Ortlieb have risen through the ranks, crediting HEAD's youth pathways for their success. These stars didn't just receive gear, they gained a foundation that propelled them from junior circuits to international podiums.

Mona Danuser, progressing with the FutureHEADs program.
Extending this ethos to snowboarding, HEAD's FutureHEADs initiative emphasizes holistic growth. Snowboarders like Mona Danuser, Tom Pünter, Thomas Kigle, and Luis Eckert started young and now embody the program's success. HEAD prioritizes enduring bonds, outfitting all athletes, juniors and pros alike, with head-to-toe gear. Professional riders actively contribute to product development and testing, ensuring innovations trickle down to the next generation.
What sets the youth program FutureHEADs apart is its focus on community and skill-building beyond the slopes. Annual camps bring young talents from around the globe together for hands-on sessions with pro photographers and filmmakers, social media workshops, and coaching from ambassadors like Thomas Kigle or former Olympic rider Sina Candrian. Pünter, who transitioned from youth participant to international adult pro rider, shares ”tips and tricks” that go far beyond technique, inspiring kids to envision professional careers. This ground-up approach has produced many established pros, who began as FutureHEADs and are now fully integrated into the snowboarding scene. Unlike brands that spotlight only their elite few, HEAD boosts all its athletes across its channels – from young guns to pro competing riders, democratizing visibility and motivation.

Since 2008, Alexander Zverev has been a HEAD player.
Shifting to racquet sports, HEAD shows the same commitment by spotting young talent early and guiding them through those crucial first years. Rising stars like Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti were rising stars with HEAD since 2011, while Matteo Berrettini and Alexander Zverev joined even earlier, back in 2008. Zverev later made history with Olympic gold in Tokyo 2020. The journey also includes Taylor Fritz, Flavio Cobolli, and Francisco Cerundolo, who have all developed under HEAD’s support.
On the women’s side, Coco Gauff became a HEAD player in 2016 and went on to capture the US Open in 2023, while Karolina Muchova signed on in 2012 at just 16 years old. Barbora Krejcikova followed in 2016, later lifting the Roland Garros and Wimbledon singles trophies and collecting multiple Grand Slam doubles titles. Together, these players show how HEAD’s steady backing can help juniors grow into champions on the world stage.

Arturo Coello signed with HEAD as a teenager.
In the rising (and rising fast) sport of padel, HEAD's influence is equally profound. Andrea Ustero joined at 14, and Arturo Coello at 16, both now thriving pros. By providing resources from the grassroots level, HEAD ensures these young players access cutting-edge racquets and training, paving paths to global stages.
Ultimately, HEAD's grassroots programs are more than sponsorships, they're ecosystems that cultivate resilience, innovation, and community. By betting on youth, HEAD isn't just equipping athletes, it's shaping the future of sports, one prodigy at a time. As these programs expand, expect even more breakout stars to credit their origins to HEAD's visionary support.
