Only one player is said to have ‘completed tennis’. Any big title you wish to think of, Novak Djokovic has already won it at least once. In many cases, twice or three times. Even up to ten times. There’s nothing Djokovic hasn’t done with his HEAD tennis racquet.

There have been some extraordinary tennis players over the years. Only one has achieved true tennis greatness: Djokovic. The HEAD ambassador is all on his own. With HEAD launching the second edition of the SPEED LEGEND tennis racquets – which have an exclusive design to celebrate Djokovic being the GOAT or Greatest of All Time - it’s a moment to reflect on some of the history he has made during his remarkable career.

Of all Djokovic’s records, of which there are many, the one that defines him more than any other is that he has won 24 Grand Slam singles titles, which is more than any other man in history. When people in tennis talk about Djokovic being the GOAT, that tends to be the statistic they mention first. Ten times Djokovic has won the Australian Open while he has seven Wimbledon titles, along with four US Open titles and three Roland-Garros titles. Anyone who achieves the Career Grand Slam – winning each of the four majors at least once – is a brilliant player, but Djokovic is the only man to have won each of the Slams at least three times each, to have done what you might call a Triple Career Grand Slam.
Djokovic’s greatness is unprecedented in so many ways. He has spent a total of 428 weeks as the world number one, which is more than 100 weeks longer than the second player on the list, while he has finished eight seasons at the top of the rankings, which is another record.

History has flowed from Djokovic’s SPEED racquet. He’s the only man to have won all nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments at least once each, giving him what is known as the Career Golden Masters. As if that wasn’t special enough, Djokovic has actually won all of those events at least twice each. In all, Djokovic has 40 ATP Masters 1000 titles, yet another record.
The most emotional of Djokovic’s victories was probably when he won the Olympic title for the first time at the Paris Games in 2024. Emotions were high because that was the title he had wanted for so long. That had been the only one missing from his collection. Victory in Paris made him only the third male singles player in history to complete what is known as the Career Golden Slam, which is winning the four majors as well as an Olympic gold medal.

Everywhere Djokovic goes he seems to make history and when he won a clay-court tournament in Geneva in May 2025, it was a highly significant moment. That run in Switzerland took him to 100 career titles, making him only the third man in the Open Era, which began in 1968, to reach a century. It also meant that he had won at least one title every year for the last 20 seasons, another first in the Open Era. Twice Djokovic has won 10 or more titles in a season, the first time being in 2011 when he gathered 10, including three of the four Grand Slams, while in 2015 he lifted 11 trophies, and again he won three of that season’s majors.

Look at the tournaments where Djokovic has had the most success and it illustrates how he can play on any surface. At the top of the list is the Australian Open, where he has been the champion ten times, and which is played on hard courts, while he has seven titles from Wimbledon (grass) and the Paris Masters (hard) and the ATP Finals (hard), along with six titles from Miami (hard), Rome (clay), Dubai (hard) and Beijing (hard).
How many more times, you might wonder, will Djokovic win those and other tournaments? While he has already completed tennis, he is still ambitious to do more in this sport.
