"This is a magnificent victory by Franjo. It's very important following the highlight events in Wengen and Kitzbühel where he made mistakes in both competitions. He builds up incredible speed, and it was great to see him in action like that. I was really hoping today that he could nail this run without any mistakes. Now he can head to Bormio in full confidence," said HEAD Racing Director Rainer Salzgeber. "The second podium of the season for Ryan is also a very nice touch. He told me that previously he had been trying to apply too much pressure. He needed a different approach here in Crans Montana because of the layout of the course. Now he believes that he has found the right formula. He likes Bormio, and has skied fast there before. That's why this is an important result for him."
65 hundredths of a second was the lead that Franjo von Allmen built up over Dominik Paris in second place. For the 24-year-old Swiss athlete, this is his fifth World Cup victory - the fourth in the Downhill, the second this season following the Downhill in Val Gardena in December, and the second in a Downhill event in Crans Montana, where he also won in 2025. "I felt really good about this, and that put me on my guard, too. I enjoyed skiing this run. Competing in front of my home crowd is something special, and there's a superb atmosphere at this race. This is an important result right before the Olympic Games. It was a run that was more or less without mistakes, so I'm happy to take that with me," said Franjo von Allmen at the finish, delighted.
Ryan Cochran-Siegle was pleased to celebrate his second podium finish this season in third place. In December, the American athlete was second in the Downhill in Beaver Creek. The 33-year-old athlete crossed the line just five hundredths of a second away from second place. Alessio Miggiano from Switzerland finished eighth to also land in the top ten. Finishing in the top 30 were Stefan Babinsky from Austria in 15th place, Justin Murisier from Switzerland 16th, Guglielmo Bosca from Italy 20th, and Simon Jocher from Germany 21st.
In the women's Super-G in Crans Montana on Saturday, Ariane Rädler and Cornelia Hütter, both from Austria, finished seventh and eighth to put two HEAD World Cup Rebels in the top ten. World Cup points were also bagged by Kajsa Vickhoff Lie from Norway in eleventh place, Laura Gauche from France, who was 14th, Tricia Mangan from the USA 19th, Nina Ortlieb from Austria 20th, Corinne Suter from Switzerland 23rd, and Keely Cashman from the USA in 25th place. The Downhill in Crans Montana on Friday saw Lindsey Vonn as one of those who fell, and the event was cancelled after just six athletes had started the race.
