Biography
It really can't get much better than the 2023/24 season, when Lara Gut-Behrami won the overall World Cup for the second time since 2015/16, as well as two Crystal Globes: her fifth in the Super-G, and, for the first time, in the Giant Slalom. And she added another eight World Cup victories to her list of successes in this season of superlatives. Lara Gut-Behrami has been a highly successful ski racer since a young age. The Swiss athlete secured her first World Cup victory in the Super-G in St. Moritz in 2008 aged 17 years and eight months. Her record of being the youngest skier to have stood on top of the podium in this discipline still stands today. Since then, Lara Gut-Behrami has extended her list of successes season after season. In 2021, she was double World Champion in the Super-G and Giant Slalom in Cortina d'Ampezzo. In 2022, she won her first Olympic Gold in Beijing in the Super-G. Although she is on the ski slopes almost all year round, she loves warm weather, the beach, the sea and the summer. She also likes reading and baking. She has been married to the Swiss footballer Valon Behrami since 2018 and has used the name Gut-Behrami ever since.
